These caps offer greater stability of the main bearings and reduce cap walk to provide greatly improved bearing life. They are a direct replacement of the existing #2, 3, 4 caps on your motor. These caps are stock height and no machine work is necessary. These caps are much better than using straps and are a major improvement for any Olds.

Highly recommended for all out race and pro-street type motors where the block is going to be at least partially filled with hard block or equivalent. These caps allow the conversion to 4 bolts for #2, 3, 4 mains with the outer bolts being splayed . By careful machining and fitting of these caps as the block is greatly strengthened. This alleviates the common bearing fatigue and cracking of the main webs that is common with the thin main webs these motors were produced with. The kit includes the 3 caps, 6 splayed angle bolts, and a drilling guide that assures proper location and alignment of the splayed bolts and full instructions. You supply the main stud kit of your choice. We highly recommend that the machine work to install these caps be performed by a machinist on a Bridgeport type milling machine.
